This time Doug wore the camera

He wore it pointing backwards so that I could be filmed. There were three other videos, but because Doug was trotting and or jigging They were unwatchable. As this video ended both Coco and Knight had stopped to look at two riders approaching. Doug could not get Knight to go forward as he was mesmerized. So I went in front.. Rain is forecast today so no riding for a day or two until it dries out.

  1. A pleasant ride! Coco seems unhappy with her bit. Is she nervous?

  2. Coco was still chewing the alfalfa she had at the hitching post and then later some grass on the trail. (She had her teeth checked a week or two ago ) She is always lively and steps out as Morgans do.

    1. Aha, I just wondered because I hadn't seen her do that before.

    2. I should say that when we first got Coco and I tried her in a snaffle she was uncontrollable out on the trail and evaded bit pressure by putting her tongue over the bit. After a lot of experimentation with all kinds of bits with low ports e.g. a kimberwicke ( England Kimblewick) and curb chain we settled on a "western training bit" it has a medium port and curb strap. I like to ride with two reins because I can use the top rein as a snaffle in case of a big spook. I "double' or quickly pull the horses head around to get control.
