Me and King Karrot taking Sierra out on the trail for the very first time. I found a western bridle for Karrot, so that I could neck rein and stop more easily. Sierra needs to wear the Mony Roberts dually halter for more stop for her. A lovely sunny day in the high 60's. Rain is forecast for tommorow.

The vegetable garden is getting going with lettuce sprouting and fava beans about to produce. We have so many limes that we don't know what to do with them. They look like lemons because they have gone yellow after falling off the tree.
We had an emergency across the street from us. A fire truck, police cars and then an ambulance took our neighbor a man in his 70's or 80's to the hospital.

Me and Pesky doing the yo yo game from Pat Parelli's seven games. It was quite hot in the 80's I had to hose my shirt with cold water to keep working. The yo yo game is when the horse goes backwards when you wiggle the lead rope, and comes to you when you pull slightly on the rope. Pesk is lame so he is wearing support boots and we could not do anything too strenuous.

Today is Doug's 68th birthday, yipes !! I am not that far behind. Both of us are blessed with good health.
Papers have been served to Doug's ex wife finally. Big sighs of relief for all the family, now things will move on ward and will eventually settle into a way of support and peace for all of us involved. I do not know how her life is going to be.
I have been having an amazing time of discovery with horses Coco and Pesky.  I decided to go back to the Parelli seven games with both. I invested in the equipment so I might as well use it. I am very lucky to have an actual sand arena to work in.
and some white plastic poles as well. Plus a small tarp. In the top picture are Sierra, Karrot and Pesky, Coco is in the arena also, but out of the picture. She is not integrated with the herd yet. In the bottom one Pesky having fun with the tarp. All were turned out to play after a training session.

It was a chilly night last night , although the temperature gauge in my office says 59 degrees F now at 7.30am. It will be a warm sunny day with light winds.  I have a temperature gauge that Doug got me, that is remotely connected to the outside. I can see outside and inside temperatures sitting here at my desk. Yesterday and the day before I spent some time working on two pedigrees that I had run out of and I have sold.  Thoroughbred race horses Thunder Rumble and the amazing French horse Sea Bird II. I also would like to finish the custom one that I am still working on. I have given up trying to find where Sceptre was in the picture.
I will just add something like Sceptre after a race. I had to think and look at the picture to decide was it before or after a race. A day off today from the horses and possibly a day devoted to the garden. Doug brought home some plants yesterday from a friends apartment. The friend is moving and Doug has been helping. I know one of the plants is a Ficus in a pot. I have not seen them yet they are still in the back of the truck. I have planted some spinach and lettuce in my vegetable garden and have some volunteer cilantro and tomatoes thriving. It gets way to hot later in the year to plant some things, such as lettuce, so I am hoping that the length of days and temperatures will get the seeds to germinate.
