I see that I have some visitors to my site other than myself. So I am inspired then to write about something.  It is very hot this week here in Simi Valley, California. We have no air conditioning in our house, just a "swamp cooler' on the roof. But we do have fans and I am sitting here typing this while being wafted by the one above my head on the ceiling. My thermometer on my desk says 100 degrees F outside and 91 inside. I think I will get a cold towel to put around my neck.
Smokey the cat just woke up he has been asleep under the bed in the front bedroom since about 11am. It is almost 4pm now.
My husband and I are expecting visitors. My stepson and his little boy are driving down from the bay area to stay for a few days. I have not seen them for several years !!! I am growing my hair out and it is now half grey, so I may have aged since they last saw me. They have probably aged too. This morning we went out to drop off some fencing materials at my step daughters and then over to where we keep our horses to turn them out and feed them their lunch, and make sure that they are perfectly happy. I am having a lot of fun putting pedigree news on my page on face book and putting old photos on my page. My sister just scanned one from her collection of me sitting on Eyton Rising a race horse owned by Leominster business man Frank Dale.

This blog has pretty much turned in to my pedigree blog. So I am going to post my pedigree bio just for fun.
I have been a pedigree researcher and maker since 2003. I got the inspiration  from spending some time being bored living in a city in the bay area while my husband went to work every day. I had no garden or animals to keep me busy and lots of spare time. My background includes being a "lad" in my youth, which means I worked in a racing stable in England ( I was born and raised in Herefordshire) I rode and took care of many different race horses and became interested in their pedigrees. At the time there was no internet or access to much information about pedigrees. I did not know that the colt I was exercising was a son of the good American race horse Tompion, a grand son of Tom Fool and great grandson of triple crown winner Count Fleet. With the help of the internet and a special computer program similar to Photoshop, I had the tools to make some amazing pedigrees. At first I had to learn the program and it took several  years to perfect my skills. I started with horses that I thought would be popular such as Secretariat and Man O' War and they continue to be best sellers. Then I made more pedigrees of Thoroughbred race horses, Arabians, Welsh Ponies, Standardbreds, Morgan and Quarter Horses and  Appaloosa's. I had a personal interest in all of these breeds. having owned and trained two Arabians with my daughter. I rode Welsh ponies at the famed Downland Stud  in Wales as a child. I became interested in Quarter and Morgan Horses, Standardbreds and the Appaloosa when I came to the USA. I now own a Morgan Horse  who is an amazing trail horse.  I lost my Appaloosa mare a few years ago and one of the Arabians. I have been commissioned to make many of the pedigrees that are available and are part of horse racing history, such as the great race mare from the early 1900's Top Flight and UK race mare Pretty Polly. I have made pedigrees for a lot of Kentucky Derby winners and all the Triple Crown winners USA.
I am still deciding what pedigrees to make that will sell, and so far I have made over 200
