We had a rain storm and snow on the mountains

Then today was warm and sunny  the perfect day for a trail ride for Doug and Dasha. Doug's  grandson Aiden actually was persuaded to get on Coco for the first time. Later he enjoyed riding the quad around.

A crazy wind storm

For two days we have had very high winds, strong enough to blow over a semi truck on the

freeway. We had shingles blown off our roof, branches and leaves all over. Out at the horses, a metal shed was blown into a horses pen. The horse has been moved and seems fine !! Our main turnout fence was partly blown over, so our horses were put in the arena for turnout.

Another great trail ride.

Perfect weather and Knight in the lead as usual. We are aiming to ride side by side. On the way out he walks more slowly, but on the way back faster. Here is a video of husband Doug on Knight and me on Coco.

The big mud puddle has arrived

Dasha had her first experience of riding through water. Knight had his second experience of it  as he already went through a couple of days ago with Doug riding with me on Coco. Tomorrow Dasha goes for her first formal paid for riding lesson. She asked me if I would teach her on Coco in the arena that we have at the ranch. I said no. I said that I did not want Coco to have to work in deep sand ( that is the footing in the arena) and be asked to go around and around in circles. So I am exited for her to be with other horsey people and to learn how to post at the trot and canter and gallop and jump.
